Now I reduced the S2E model to 8kg.

If you use the carbon weight it is as easy as possible.

But I hate the pattern of carbon.

So only use titanium to reduce weight.

So I wonder.

Is there a Titanium crank?

Come on, it's outlandish stuff like this that made WW unpredictable and great. Sure it's a Brompton, but he's got the right spirit!

And I'd rather follow this than another 'aero bikes are BS' or 'what wheels do I need' thread.

Moved to the road forum. Titanium cranks were made, a long time ago. you might get your hands on a Morati set or maybe even a set of sweetwings. Also, I believe I have read somewhere that there is a titanium bolt kit for Brompton.

Yes, there is: http://www.brompfication.com/35-titanium-bolt-set.html

have a look at their shop as well: http://www.brompfication.com/20-all-products

DeMonchaux Eclair cranks? Looks like they're still being made. No idea what the cost is. I think they use a square taper BB.

Hi. Pls post bike OP. I have a brompton as does my daughter and this could be a great project for me. At ~ 12 kgs a piece ti bolts are not going to do it.

Presumably you have changed the rear triangle and fork to Ti already ?

There's also Ti seatpost, Ti bolts, Ti spokes to consider if you haven't done those ?

I completely agree. It had never occured to me that I might need a brompton in the stable, but I am now intrigued. Please post some pictures.

If you want Lightweight cranks that aren't carbon could you consider a set of SISL? No titanium admittedly but close enough?

While we wait for the OP, I'll post a pic of mine.

Brompificaiton makes a few nice Ti parts (as others have mentioned). There is a good collection of Brompton mods on the nycewheels website (NYC Brompton dealer).

FWIW, this bike is a ton of fun. With standard gearing (I have the 6 speed version) you dont spin out until about 30mph and I have no problem climbing hills unless they are crazy steep.
