Is this old news? Just saw their very newly updated 2016 website, the new Dogma F8 Disk model is being released, on that webpage Pinarello is reporting that by 2016 UCI will allow disc brake road bikes in all races. Also posted this in another thread. Interestingly the new Dogma Disk has 406 chainstays, 9mm shorter than recommended by Shimano if indeed the bike has 135MM spacing.

Some are using 142mm too. I wonder what will be the final axle standard.

Pretty much any road bike offering that is race oriented(as opposed to endurance) is doing chain stays shorter than the Shimano recommendation. The reviews point to potential issues like chain rub, or changing rear wheels. I haven't been reading or hearing complaints so I imagine the solutions have worked out better than those around the new 'improved' bottom brackets, but I agree it will be interesting to see if approaches standardize more after UCI grants permanent approval. I have no doubt that some approaches will be deemed to work better than others

If someone is buying and planning to race, I would wait. Having approval on discs is just part. Otherwise you might have to buy another frame a year later.
