I've done some searching but was hoping for someone to clear something up for me,

I'm looking to shed some weight on my chainset,
I currently have a SRAM force S900 (iirc) chainset with Red rings.

Looking at Rotor cranks:

These are 532 without rings,

However, when looking at Red chainsets they give a weight of 555 with a compact set of Red rings.

Is this correct?

Are the Rotors really that much heavier?

Karl, you are looking at the older model of this Rotor crank.
A set of Rotor 3D+MAS 110BCD, 175mm, with Aero Q-rings 52/38 is about 700 grams.
So yes, the Red crank will be lighter.
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

He linked to a Rotor 3DF, similar to the 3D+, but without all the extra machining to shave the weight down, the finish is basically a raw forging that's looks like it may have been bead blasted.

My 3d+ is 486gr w/o rings and my Praxis compact rings were 123gr. Still heavier than the Red crank, but I just couldn't do a Red crank on a Dura Ace build. I did sneak the Red cassette in though...
That said, I just replaced the crank on my CX build with an FSA K-Force 386evo model in the previous 5x110 bolt pattern. That thing was surprisingly light at 397 w/o rings. Praxis CX rings (46/36) came in at 156gr, but if I put my compact rings on from my Rotor, it would come in 3gr lighter than the Red crank and MUCH more versatile in frame compatibility. Too bad the colors aren't right for the road bike, I'd get a second one.
