Enve 3.4 or 4.5 (Bora Ultra 35)
Moderator: robbosmans
I think when the pricing comments were made they were discussing Bora One's not the Ultras. Also, I think the price structure may be quite different in Europe than in North America.

I recall when I was shopping around for my Boras that the Ultras were about a $1K premium over the Ones. I decided instead of one set of Ultras, I would get two sets of Ones (50 tubular & 35 clincher).
It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.

similar position and have decided to get the One's and save some money. What I'm struggling with though is that I prefer the looks of the 50's but the 35's might suit my riding style more i.e. all round with preference for hills.
If there isn't a big enough difference to notice then as above love the look of the 50's
they will be tubs whatever I decide.
Any feedback appreciated.
cheers

Been riding Bora 50 Ultra Clinchers for about 2 months now - absolutely fantastic set of wheels - best all around clinchers I have had.
Selling my Enve 3.4's with CK R45 as Bora's are superior in every department (except may be crosswinds where Enve's may be slightly more stable, but I have not had any issues with Bora 50's yest in winds)
Placed order on Bora One 50 tubulars for racing - cant be the deal on such an amazing set of wheels.

I have tried Bora 35s in windy conditions and they were as stable if not better than my enve 3.4's
At the same time Boras responded better to acceleration, felt significantly more comfortable and held speed as well as 3.4
50's are not as good in crosswinds (but not significantly worse) and interestingly enough despite being deeper felt as compliant as 35's
If you are really concerned about cross winds, get the 35 version.

great post
i'm debating the new Enve SES 4.5 or the Campag ultra 35 - both in clincher. One day, i'm on a bora buzz and then the next the 4.5 catch my eye and look stunning. I have not ridden either but I just cannot make my mind up! They will be going on a De Rosa Protos which is quite a chunky looking frame, so I thought the 4.5..........But I do love the look of the Boras!!! ahahahahahaha
