Hi,

Is there latex innertubes in the Continental Competition tubs or in the 4000S II tubs?

And what is the difference between the tires?

thanks

hmm, i read that sky had switched to conti comps after some wet weather issues on their usual veloflex

tbh i had wondered about the same as i've now had two offs (one bad that broke my hip, still recovering), both on veloflex carbon at <16 kph on just damp roads

this is after no issues for a couple of years on them and many many wet rides, so i just tell myself it was bad luck, some oil on the road perhaps

I have looked at their site, and the attack, comp, GP 4000S and competion all have blackchilli compound and the same puncture resistance belt. So they looked so similar that I was wondering if there was other differences than the tire-with and small details. Maybe if some of them have latex tubes....

tpi difference, higher tpi generally means more supple

available sizes

from the look/weight maybe thicker rubber on the 4000sii

Other than tpi, tread pattern, etc. The one big difference is that the competition tubbies have this centering bead running down the middle of the fabric tape, the 4000's do not have this. For me, this makes the 4000's easier to stretch, mount and center.
