@mnmasotto please purchase these. I'm on financial lockdown by the wife after my recent sleuths of purchases. RZRs, Fibre-Lytes and eeBrakes in one month to replace "perfectly functional parts" may not always go over well with the wife. I hate that question: "what's wrong with what you currently have?"

After I've bought some new chainrings I might stump up for one to see how it goes, but I'm waiting on the Berk cages to become available first as a comparison. Either one is actually quite a bit of cash with the exchange rate to New Zealand right now (I'm guessing the Berk will be in the same price bracket)

Hi all.

I've just received two of these. Both weigh 5g, total for both on my kitchen scales (supposedly accurate to 1g) is 10g. I'll try to post scale shots below...

I mounted one only so far - I didn't want to have to carry two bottles in my pockets in the event of failures. The one I mounted is on the down tube.

I've only done two x 3 hour hill rides since mounting the cage. It doesn't seem to hold my Soma bottles as tightly as my previous cages (13g BTP cages with electrical tape bridging the gap between the two "arms" to add grip), but I didn't have any bottle drops despite the state of Christchurch's post earthquake roads (it's like a war zone around here, but with extra glass and cones) nor on the cattle grids on the Port Hills.

Oh and the build quality seems very good - obviously hand made, but made well. Very different feel in the hand to other cages because of the "straw" shape (rather than the more usual ribbon shape) construction of the cages. Also they are sort of a dark grey in colour rather than black.

The cages come with a page of instructions. 1.5 Nm max torque, need to use assembly paste between the bike frame and the cage and the cage and counter sunk bolt surface, and warnings about being careful.

Overall very happy so far.

Thanks Carbonwork!

Cheers
GJ

Nice.

Better fitting to the bike or better fitting to the bottle?

Very sad, your cage broke. Maybe one of the first prototypes!

There are a lot of satisfied customers.
Please, send the cage back and you get a new and optimized one!
I am working hard to make them better, every time I hear something negative.
At the time I am building a shorther nose - for small frames.

Best regards,
Simon

Received my cages in the beginning of June, but only installed it on Saturday.
On my kitchen scale the 2 bottle cages + 4 aluminum bolts were 14g!

Only 2 rides until now, and everything was OK. No bottle ejected, and they seem safe! :D

Cool cages, might want to trade these for my Tune that seem to stress the eyelets on the frame.

I got some issues with my bottle cages, but were quickly solved by Simon and replaced with new ones!

Always nice to have a trustful person that stands behind his products!
