I need to replace my cables (derailleur and brakes) and should also invest in a new cable cutting tool.

Found this on several webshops but the reviews are quite negative:
Tacx T4835:

Park Tool CN-10C has better reviews:

Should I invest in cable cutting tool for bikes (Tacx, Park Tool, BBB, Shimano,...) or should I buy a regular premium brand do-it-yourself cutting tool (Facom, Knipex,...)?
After reading all the negative reviews, I wonder if I'm not better off with a regular high quality cutting tool.

I am using a simple BBB cable cutter and it works fine.

I use a basic cutter for cables, and a Dremel cutting wheel for outers.

Just spend (a little) more and buy Knipex Model 95 61 150 or Felco C7. Great quality tools, you won't be disappointed.

Second vote for the Felco C7. I have used Park, Pedros (Felco C7 knock off), and Felco. The Felco is the best materials/build and should outlast the others.

In the USA this is one of the best places to get it for price. Check for offers from them which are available often to reduce the price.

This.

If you need to use snips to cut outers, snip the end off an old inner and thread it in to the outer. That can help prevent the outer from crushing, and cutting unevenly.

I've had the basic Park one for 22 years now. First decent bike tool I ever bought and it's still great. A couple of years ago it got less effective but it just needed a good clean and the bolt tightened - back to perfect cuts every time.

It doesn't cut outers though which some cheaper ones I've used have. I'm not sure I would though - the cable discs on my winter commuter were transformed by new outers cut really straight with a dremel - which even the best cutters won't do.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

I've had the Jagwire Incisor for a little while. I've used it on about ten bikes now and love it. I used to use the dremel cut-off wheel for housing but I could never go back. Not to expensive either.

I found the Park ones in the picture really disappointing, don't even use them any more. I now use just the cheap shimano ones which are brilliant for inner cables and housing.
This is for use in a very busy workshop and they have lasted over 2 years
