Sadly I got knocked off my bike by a car the other day, no injury. But my knee must have impacted the little pad centralising mechanism. Craig the creator of EE brakes has sent me a new rod over from the U.S.

Apparently the brakes can be broken up in order to replace the part. Has anyone ever dared to do this? If so, would appreciate any pointers!

Cheers guys!

Email EE and get their instructions... It's not massively difficult.

The guy has replied to every email I have ever sent in crazy quick time. Sent the new part free of charge the moment I got in contact. Very impressed!

I just have to echo this - Each time I've had a question, I've phoned or emailed (Craig is local to me), and he's responded within an hour - even on a weekend!. It's products and service like this that keep customers coming back - I just bought a 2nd set of eeBrakes for my new bike.

I have broken them apart. Its a matter of removing some c clips on the back of the brakes.

+1 for Craig and excellent customer service.

I'm a little hesitant to break them up as they're not cheap, but will give it a whirl.
