Hi,

Who has any experience with this aluminium clincher wheelset ?

I am still looking for an excellent and light wheelset for the mountains which should be better/ lighter than my current Fulcrum Racing Zero Nite wheelset with 1420g ...

In the rewiews that I found, the rear wheel seems to be really too soft but the reviews are all from 2-3 years old.
Did Tune meanwhile improved the stiffness of the rear wheel ?

While I haven't ridden the latest version I don't imagine they've changed too much. The CXSuper just don't do well in building a laterally stiff wheel. It's possible though to do something similar with a CxRay and get a stiffer wheel with similar weight at a better price as well. Of course that depends on your size and your particular needs.

No such thing as a free lunch. If you reduce spoke gauge and spoke count you end up with a soft wheel.

These wheels "clinchers are well under 1200grms about 1180grms .
Kinlin xr200 rims, Dati super light hubs and Sapim super spokes.

I also have another set of clinchers ,Stans rims . American Classic hubs and rev spokes ,these weigh exactly 1182grms.

I at some point will stick the super spokes on the Stans and drop around another 30grms.

These wheels are hand built and very cheap to buy. in-fact the most expensive bits are the sapim super spokes.

Each wheelset cost around £300 for parts,

I must say I do like the Kinlin rims better as tyres are easy to fit and sit very nice.
