Hello everyone,

My name is Sarvesh Sangarya. I am a 20 year aspiring pro cyclist residing in Bangalore, India racing as part of the Specialized-KYNKYNY Cycling Team.
This June and July, I will be heading to Belgium with a couple of my teammates to race as part of Kingsnorth International Wheelers based in Ghent.
We will be the first Indians to do so.

Does anyone know what are the documents required to race over there?

Thanks,
Sarvesh

Gotta get in touch with race organizers or federation Royale Ligue Velocipédique Belge.

Good luck. Prepare yourself to go flat out from the start.

Sarvesh,

Don't you have a team director taking care of those things? I find it hard to believe your director/manager isn't giving you the information you need for this.

Goodluck nonetheless.

I know your team, have probably raced against you on occasion. from the experiences of friends who have actually raced there, be prepared to be in alot of pain. cycling in belgium is on a whole different level. Belgian cyclists are really hard. be prepared to be cursed at or scolded in the race!

good luck

Yeah rat-ass Staf Boone will really take of you :/

My advice is to find another activity. Travelling 5000 miles to Belgium to race in this team. If you're any good you could do better and not ask for advice here.

What type of races are you planning to do?

For kermis racing you don't really need a team or a director. Read Gregg's guide on www.thechainstay.com lots of helpful information there.

Well aren't we a friendly bunch of weenies. Racing in Belgium isn't for everyone but it's certainly not something to be afraid of if you want to give it ago assuming you're somewhat self sufficient. And by somewhat I mean very, self sufficient.

Check out Ryans blog entry here to give you a bit of reading to do and direction to gather all the information you need to at least try and enjoy getting your teeth kicked in across the pond. It's old but still good information. Good luck and be sure to check back in if you manage to give it a go.

GUESS GUESS GUESS but have sent my son twice from USA

Passport - to get you in the country. As you live in a commonwealth country I expect that is it.

International license
Likely a Foreign Permission Letter from your federation.
Some proof of medical insurance

These are the USA forms required to send a junior.
