Which way do they hang? Road pedals.
Moderator: robbosmans
I have been riding Looks since the late 80's. At the present time I am on some keo carbons. They hang heel side down. I am thinking about a set of Shimano ulterga 6800 carbons. I am looking for a pedal that hangs toe down/heel up. Do the Shimano road pedals hang toe down/heel up?
It would make it easier to clip in from a stop or on a hill.
Any other pedals that are a 3 bolt design hang toe down/heel up. Not sure about any of the newer looks but not out of the question.
Thanks
Brian

I'm not sure if you would be able to clip into a three bolt pedal that hangs toe side down. I haven't tried but I don't think it's possible.

You missed April Fools by a few days.
The old campag SGR clipless pedals had a friction brake to make them hang where they were when you clipped out.
Most people I knew with those pedals got rid fairly quickly, or removed/modified the brake (so it didn't work)

What? How? Why?
Any pedal with a steel spring will hang heel down. Keo Blades with free running bearings will hang heel down. Time Xpresso/ Mavic Zxellium will hang wherever they were when you clipped out. Speedplay doesn't matter since it's double sided, just stamp down somewhere close to it.

That was true for XPresso 10 (didn't try 12). However, I just did a maiden ride with Xpresso 15 last weekend. The heel side properly goes down. Price is not even funny, but ease of clipping is very nice.

How in the world do you clip in if it's hanging the other way?
OK reel me in, I bite...
In the good old days with Christophe clips and Binda straps, the toe pointed down
Just a deft tap and you could clip in !
Kidz these days have it too easy...cont page 97...
There, I've given my age away
