Interesting discussion - nothing's going under the radar of our WWs

There already is quite some info about the ultra in here, we will have a more formal, official announcement soon. Feel free to already e-mail me if you don't feel like waiting (in fact mnmasotto is already having the pole position there).

Regardless of the price I actually already see our 'VIAL evo D" as a direct competitor to the RCa (which indeed is a great frame as well). The magazine tests (e.g. RoadBIKE, TOUR-Magazin) as well as user feedback from people who own both definitely confirm so with a slight favour even for our evo.
I'll try to have the ultra built up tomorrow to bring it to the "Berliner Fahrradschau" exhibition over the weekend in case anyone was around.

*We'll shortly also have some interesting wind tunnel data available. The evo of course per se is not an aero frame but does really decent there - better than current special project frames for TdF winners.

Would be nice to know how the Ultra feels compared to Vial EVO D.
I would like to see more sizes. I would run mine 10mm lower in stack and a bit shorter reach.
It seems small and medium are more close, than medium large.
I would like an ML size :-D

Sure there must be a weight limit. Have you seen any super light carbon that is free from weight limits?

Briefly heard that they await special ceramic bearings and THM CT special made forks.
I think this bike is just around the corner, but perhaps sales will kick off before or after Eurobike!
It seems like a deluxe version of Vial EVO D, for the most extreme who just must have the über version!

I was watching the Merida Scultura video and their frame donned in a slew of AX lightness goodness came in at 4.5kg.. the price of the frameset was much cheaper than that of the Vial... Bikes are becoming feathery light these days..

Are you talking of the unreleased 2016 limited version?
No-one has bought one, no real weights or anything.
When frames become very light, i would really test them first.
To strip away so much material, to get weights very low, the question is what stiffness do you get and what don't you get?
It's not just peel of carbon. I would really be careful with bikes very light.

Personally i think Vial EVO D is extremely light. Owning this frame i wouldn't want any lesser.
It's probably same with wheels. Just look at stems, bars aso, at some point you sell off too much for the grams.
Vial EVO D is no noodle, for me it manage to get weight down and still offer a "ride feel", comfort and fun factor.
I am NOT a sprinter, but sure i can sprint.
The ride feel and comfort is key words for me with Vial EVO D.

I would never go for the absolute in lightness. I guess when building a light bike, one should contemplate if we sprint and / or ride very hard.
There is no way the lightest ride can take as much as a slightly more heavy built bike.

I still guess RCA is the technical tour de force in bike design. But it comes at a steep price just as Rolo.
Vial EVO Ultra is second i guess.
What i like with Ax Lightness is that they really care when or if something comes up.
That means very very much when toys cost these amounts.
