Hello,

I am new here. I am have some troubles deciding between Allez expert 2015 and CAAD10 ultegra 2015? I know these questions were exposed here already but I do not think the Allez with smartweld was in the game.

Also I have some troubles finding on Google live pictures of Allez expert 2015 with stock equipment. So if anyone has any pictures to share on this thread I would be more than happy. Also does anyone have the out of the box weight on the Allez expert 2015 size 56?

Thank You all for your help!

I now have a Allez Smartweld with the Keyline paint.. had a few Caad10's previous, Evo's, Madones, Tcr Advanced SL's. The Allez is one great bike and can not find a weak spot with this frame. I built it with Di2 (drilled some holes) and absolutely love it. I didn't get a chance to weight it when I had the bare frame, but would put it in the 1100-1200 grams arena. Anyway, just getting some outdoor time on it now and having fun. The great thing about this frame is a ton of bang for the buck as is the Caad10. The welds are much smoother on the Allez though.

Thanks. What does 'Keyline paint'? English is not my birth language, sorry. You have Allez from which year? 2014? Is it the black one with a few red parts? Is it stiffer than CAAD10? How does the FSA SLK crank perform? Thanks

I know it's not quite the same but I have a caad8 and an allez 2014 with both the same components and wheels and tyres and for me the caad is much faster and as a matter of fact I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2015 caad10 frame and sell the allez as I feel more drained after riding it , just feels like it's got drag or takes more effort to keep it rolling it's weird the only thing I can put it down too is the geometry .

But on the other side some say CAAD is too stiff...no as comfortable as allez...

I considered the CAAD10 before buying my SWorks Allez- both are stunning bikes, and I was drawn to the straight lines of the CAAD, but previous experience with Specialized pulled me in that direction. I'm glad I went for the Allez- it flies. It's not as plush as my Parlee, as you'd expect, but I'll comfortably do 100mi on it and feel great afterwards. It's also super light- 1050g frame. To be honest, either would be a fine choice.

Last week I averaged 100-140km per day in a 5 day trip on a CAAD10. Was comfortable the entire time. I'm also very used to the position from my SuperSix EVO so I didn't feel any aches or soreness anywhere. Allez probably is slightly more comfortable but it's amazing what -10 PSI in tires can do to the comfort of the bike. +20 PSI if you want to really go all out!

I'm not sure how helpful it is, but I wrote a short review on the two framesets on bike forums:

Bottom line: both bikes are great and you can't go wrong with them.

If buying new, the Caad10 is a good choice as the caad12 is out now and there's some good prices for the Caad10 as dealers are clearing stock for 14 and 15 models.
