Hey weight weenies. I've come out of my regular sanctuary (Veloriders) and come to a more of a university to learn about bikes being mega light.
Any way. What do you recon are the best upgrades I can make to my bike. As you know I do crits (as I’m a youth rider) and also I’m on a very tight budget. I could probably only pay for them on the money I get from working at local bike shop. Any way he’s my spec of my bike. Sorry haven’t got a picture of it on its own, haven’t got a camera you see.

Frame: Fausto Coppi campinoissimo (the yellow one)
Wheels:Mavic cosmos's (thinking bout getting sum ksyriums as you know)
Groupset: Shimano ultegra
Tires: Vittoria evo corsa cx open (worn out so need to get a new pair)
Bars: Deda 215 shallows (loveley)
Stem: 3t the
Seatpost: Ricthey (botom model i think)
Saddle: flite kevlar
Pedals: Look 396

Thats about it.

You can see my bike, me in the youth tour of kerry with my kom jersey on ! :D

Thanks in advance,

I was in the same position 12 months ago.

All upgrades are going to cost money and I founmd it more useful to ride a peice of lead and build my riding ability.

The best upgrades in my opinion are

Wheels- aero or lightweight depending on your requirements,
Tyres- loose some of the rotating weight but don't go too light or punctures will frustrate your results.

I kept riding my peice of rubbish and told myself I would buy a light/stiff/fast bike when I had a good paying job.

Wheels are the best single upgrade you can make.

Agree 100%. You will notice the difference with wheels and tyres immediately. Get someone with a light pair and do a little test ride. You'll be almost flying!!!

Tyres are cheaper, but don't go too light or they will wear quickly.
Wheels are a long term investment.
