is there any alternative cap besides the two sizes trek offers?

reason being I would like to run a 50cm slr. I need 74cm from bb to saddle, but treks seat height maximum for a 50cm is 72.5cm.

With a saddle height of 74cm, you're 1.5cm from the max height on a 52. Do you really need a 50? Seems like a 52 might be a better fit. I dunno. What's your anomaly? What kind of saddle to handlebar drop are you trying to achieve, or do you need a shorter top tube?

I had to buy one for the same issue for my madone .. shit customer policy on trek's behalf really; they should let you choose.

Do I really need a 50, no. Do I really need an slr, no lol. I would just like to run a smaller frame and a longer stem.

That's what I kinda suspected, but was giving you the benefit of a doubt. :)

I had an identical problem with an Emonda. The size the shop ordered for me was a perfect fit, and one that has worked well for me for some time. Frame came in and we couldn't make it work with the longest mast. All that excitement. Had to pass.
