Dedacciai Ran 2015 frame:

Claimed weight for M size frame: 790 g + Fork: 325 g = 1115 g
Real weight for S size Frame: 895 g + Fork: 374 g = 1269 g (+13,8 %)

I send a mail direct to Dedacciai, and after a long talk, the answer is to return the frame, because they cant assure the frame kit weight.

Please don't make the same mistake that i did.

Dedacciai has a problem with scales...

I thought it was well known that the Italian manufacturers where the biggest liars of them all concerning weights.

Edit...
That doesn't seem too far off the norm tho. I've seen much worse.

Frame weights are commonly without any hanger, clamps etc, and probably before paint. Those things could easily account for the difference. And the fork would be a lot closer when it's cut.

I'm guessing all frame manufacturers are equally guilty of fudging weights.
There's sometimes a buggy.
How many drivers does a buggy have?

One.

So let's just say I'm drivin' this buggy...
and if you fix your attitude you can ride along with me.

Did you get a chance to ride that? How was the ride and finish of it? I like the look of the frame.

The frame weight (895g) is without hanger, clamps, etc.

On the Deddacciai web site says:

The result of the RAN frame is very clear: 790 grams of weight for the painted M size and 1.115 grams for the coupled frame and fork of only 325 grams.

No ride yet, i'm still deciding if i'm going to return the frame to the dealer.

Nope - there are several manufacturers who are pretty spot on all the time. But there are definitely more who aren't. Including almost all Italians

What's the consensus on Giants weights? Should I be weighing my Defy Advanced SL frame?

Yes, all somewhat true about Italian cycling weight but isn't Campagnolo known for frequently weighing less in the real world rather than a published weight?

Even the vaunted Evo when it first came out and astounded everyOne with its strength to weight ratio, no one could quite match what Cannondale claimed. It all depended on the criteria of how each bike company decided to measure weights, and all of them are different aren't they?

Did you ever like this frame? I wonder because if you choose a frame just by its claimed weight why don't you do a better research? Sorry but the way you are attacking Dedacciai sounds somehow suspicious. Ok, you 're pissed off but...

If i liked this frame? I spend 2100 € on this frame. I think that someone need to like a little to spend that kind of money on a frame.
I did a extensive frame research with several key criteria. The problem it that one of the main key criteria (weight) fails by almost 15%!!!

Somehow suspisious??
If helps, my current bike is a Dedacciai Nero Corsa since 2010...

I purchase a campagnolo bora one 35 wheels. Declared weight 1215g. Real weight 1188 g.
If the real weight was 1382 g. i would "attack" Campagnolo the same way!!!
