Narrow handlebars
Moderator: robbosmans
Can anyone suggest good quality handlebars that come in 38cm c-c width at a reasonable weight? Most seem to be heavy entry level ones.

I was going to mention Williams Maxim ACS, but they do not offer 38.
I am using the 40, moving from 42. The best bar I've ever used! And light!

Easton if you can still get them. The top carbon one with more of a classic drop.
Zipp makes a few options.
Deda if you want alloy
Ive used all of them and its just a matter of finding the right drop.

The width of 3T bars are measured c-c at the drops but because they flare ~1cm on either side, the c-c measurement from the hoods is about 2cm narrower. Which means your "38" 3T bars are actually 36 c-c at the hoods.
3T Ergonova in a 40cm. They measure 40 c-c at the drops and about 38.5 at the hoods.
Description from Art's Cyclery:
Sizing Note: These bars are approximately 16mm smaller in the hoods than at the drops so you may want to consider sizing up. (i.e. a size 44 bar, though the measurement is accurate from center to center at the drops, is actually about a size 42.5 at the hoods)
There's also the PRO VIBE 7S available in 38 c-c but that's aluminum.

Are you sure you have received the right size? According to link Zipp measures at the hoods:

Mine is the Service Course CSL bar. I've been running it since 2012. I just measured it. Its 38cm center to center at the hoods. 40cm outside to outside at the ends of the drops. I guess ZIPP had a different way of measuring at the time.
