I know there have been various threads regarding alternative bowties to the originals in the zero pedals, but I’m just trying to get my hand on an original set or ones that work – for once this isn't about weight savings (for the winter bike)

I have a set of zero’s which are just over a year old, and the bowtie has snapped in half on one side. I happened in freezing conditions and I can only assume a screw was loose and that combined led to it failing? Who knows…

Is anyone aware can I buy a replacement bowtie(s)? I remember seeing them previously, but now appear to be like hens teeth.
The pedals are in reasonably good condition otherwise and I don’t particularly want to turn them into spare parts.

Thanks.

I think Speedplay has bodies that are for sale as parts. The bodies come with inserts.

I have purchased the titanium versions above, they work perfectly.

Excel Sports in Boulder has most speedplay small parts available online.

I use the tuning pedals version and they've been perfect for >15.000km's.
No complaints so far. Set and forget.
No need to align them like with the toronto cycles version (have read, on ww, they were crap).

I need advice. Want to replace the orig bowties for Ti, but can´t unscrew the screws. Broke one torx with torque wrench and now trying with screwdriver like (no T-handle) and I feel it twist/wind, but no movement on screw. There must be very hard threadlock used. Any tips?

Heat. Stick it in some boiling water and have another go.

I thought about this, but what about seals? Will survive this?

Should do, the materials are probably good to 120+ before they stop working and another 20 or 30 before they start breaking down. (They will most likely be either EPDM or Nitrile there are probably some other alternatives, but i doubt they will be that fragile..)

Thanks, will try and report back.
EDIT: thank you sir, it worked. They have put the blue threadlock and also something red.

I have often found it cheaper to buy a set of CroMo Speedplays on sale, and they come complete WITH cleats and sole plates.
It is really easy to pop a new pedal body on with new bearings and o ring seals onto your Stainless or Ti Spindle.
Minus the AUD $50 for the cleats and it is much cheaper than buying the Speedplay body spare parts.

And I did exactly this:
CrMo pedals 85€ (90$)
J&L Ti spindles 39€ (42$)
J&L bowties/screws 20€ (22$)
Total 144€ (154$)

Maybe you people need to read again the startpost. He ONLY need some bowties.
And he is searching for STANDARD ones.

Although every speedplay dealer will be able to deliver, they are ridiculous expensive.

So maybe some of you have leftovers from updating your pedals or just leftovers from used pedals.
Easy to send them cheap in an envelope.
