HI,

I'd like to try something different than my Bont's A1.

BUt the challenge is to find some shoes with very low stack height, since my ISP is cut exactly for the fit on Bont shoes. I can raise the saddle by maybe 4-5 mm, but not much more.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance :beerchug:

Hi Louis, as you mentioned that you can raised the saddle by 4-5mm, I doubt that the difference of Bont A1 stack height with other shoe is more than 5mm. Unless you are using Speedplay Cleat on Bont (without Adapter) and changing to a shoe which requires adapter for the Speedplay Cleat. My experience from Bont A1 Speedplay sole to Bont Vaypor with Adapter for Speedplay is about 5mm. For other shoe might be more than 5mm.

Hope this help.

You could try a pair of D2 shoes. They have very thin soles.

I forgot to specify : Shoes less than $1200. ;) .

Let's say average priced shoes.

I finally went for a pair of Northwave Extreme 3S.
Very happy with the purchase.
I have to rise the seat mast by 6-7 mm to have the same height.
It's ok with the Ritchey stubby, I put a carbon spacer made out with some ISP "slices".

I wanted to try the Woodman IT seat mast but it's pretty short, so I don't know if it'll fit solid now....

What about the pedal type? I think a speedplay pedal, matched with a SP specific shoe/sole is about 1cm lower than a look style pedal with a normal 3 bold cleat. Good luck.

Been on Look all my life.

There is a Speedplay "pattern" under the Northwave shoes.

Maybe I'll try it ....someday.... thanks for pointing that out ;)
