Boysa, the 2015 Chorus brakes have the same design as the non-series Campagnolo Brakes (Skeleton) which have replaced Athena and Centaur:

http://www.campagnolo.com/US/en/Compone ... olo_brakes

There are a few minor differences and mainly in the brake shoe which has orbital adjustment, the "special pad compound" introduced a few years ago and the brake shoe cutouts and clip ("exclusive brake pad coupling/uncoupling system").

Again, it doesn't look like 2015 Chorus gruppos are shipping with the new brakes. Campa might just be getting rid of excess inventory.

OP, forgot to give you my mixed group choices.

Shifters: Record (Only a $30 price difference)
FD: Chorus (Smart savings of $35)
RD: Record ($50 difference but the true sweet spot between Chorus and SR)
Cranks/Chainset: Record (Might as well spend a little extra to save some gramz)
Brakes: Chorus (no brainer, plus you can't see the logos when you photograph your bike against a wall, BAAW)
Chain: Record (read a few of the threads here and lowest price differential between any component)
Cassette: Chorus (no brainer- superior durability and shifting could even be better than any cassette with Ti cogs)

Ok, I'm confused. The brakes I have look exactly the same as the ones on the website (http://www.campagnolo.com/US/en/Mechani ... horus/road) and to me look identical to the ones pictured on the bike. They have both the brake shoe cutouts and the "clip," which I quickly removed.

No big deal. I'm happy with them, and got them at a good price.

The Chorus brakes on the Campagnolo site are not the same as the ones on my CAAD10 or the ones in the Bike24 pic. Take a look at the right pivot.

Wiggle has both versions in stock and the 2009-14 have a 30% higher MSRP.

More clearance and more recessed at pivot bolt on 2015

Thanks! The lightbulb just went off. Talk about subtle differences. I see the price difference. Curious.

Just looking at the street prices, Record > SR is a bigger price jump than Chorus > Record

On snob factor, Record is nearer SR than Chorus is to Record. Why? For two reasons - because Record was previously the top end group and aesthetically it is very similar to SR.

On that basis I'd go for Record, other than the chainset where SR can be justified.

Other than that the weight saving and increased snob value from SR is minimal

On cassettes, with a larger ratio cassette the weight savings moving out in favour of SR

@kgt Where did you get the information about the weights being the same?

so...
Ergopower Controls: Chorus is 8gr heavier (2% heavier)
FD: Chorus is 5gr heavier (7% heavier)
Chain: Chorus is 5gr heavier (2% heavier)

I know this is ww but in practice these differences in weight are nothing considering the prices. There are much much cheaper ways to loose weight and improve performance.

And I've been buying Record chains all this time. Seems silly! Plus, is that the difference for the uncut chains? Once trimmed, it should be even less.

May be of some use to those who are as anal as me... i'm guessing quite a few on here ;-)

Weights are per Campag's 2015 tech manual, prices are in GBP currently available from shineybikes.com

If looking at price vs weight, Chorus is hard to ignore. But you know you want that little red flash of bling!

The 2015 Campy SR rear dérailleur is the coolest bling component of any offered by the main 3 manufacturers.

Aarw, are the Chorus shifters really lighter than the Record ones? Seems wrong

I agree SR rd is a work of art but Chorus components are bling enough. One may spend the money to a full carbon stem/handlebar or lighter/sexier saddle or carbon blade pedals or...

I replaced my worn out first gen Super Record Lever Shifters and Rear Derailleur with 2014 Chorus Shifters and Rear Derailleur. The performance is flawless. All shifts pop.

Can 2015, as beautiful as that Rear Derailleur looks, perform any better?

Seems to me you can save a bundle going with 2014.

Personally I prefer ti bolts on my Campy components since I can't stand for rusty bolts. Therefore I always have SR/Record on my 'good' bikes and Chorus on my crit bike which I careless. However I'm sure which groups came with ti bolts for 2015?
