Are +/- zero degree stems uncool on road bikes?

+6* stem and a 20mm stack on a 58cm frame.... Super uncool, but so are my back issues could have gone a 61cm frame but 0 availability and being comfortable on a 58cm SL4 with -6* and no stack before my issuses began meant a 58 was a suitable fit.
Moral of the story is comfort should always trump vanity.....

I could probably fit a 56 well, but most head tubes these days are too tall for me so I have to run a 120mm -17deg stem, and a lot of exposed seatpost.
Thanks Professor - good advice - I do tend towards the largest frame these days for exactly this reason. In this instance I am reviving my original road bike so working with an existing frame.

Agreed!
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

I say it is cooler to have like 2-2.5 cm spacers, 100-110 mm +/- 6d stem and more seat post showing than fewer spacers, a shorter stem, and a nubby little seat post showing.
Nubby seat posts, more spacers and colorful bar tape that doesn't match the saddle are allowable on cyclocross bikes, though.

It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.

A -17 with one spacer less would give you the same position.

Not at all a problem granted your head tube is at 90°.

Don't worry about what a bunch of judgemental road cyclists think. Who appointed them in charge of fashion and equipment matters? I'll wave at you in passing. I'll be on the Colnago with a black saddle, white bar tape, and ankle high socks. To the snobs not returning my wave - I'm happier than you and having more fun.
