In order for galvanic corrosion to occur it would have to be in almost constent contact with water, i.e. submersed in water, and unless its salt water nothing would happen. There would be no electric load for it to occur otherwise.
That may be the theory but after having 6 carbon/al lugged frames + 2 replacement frames that I sold (3 different manufacturers in all) fail from galvanic corrosion in less than 3 years when I lived in Hawaii I would say the theory needs some work (I was riding a lot of miles but above water at all times).
I think the construction techniques have improved since then but it certainly showed contact with the salt air and occasional sea spray was sufficient to get some current going (and rust out your car in short order too). Granted it's a pretty extreme case environmentally but it has made me pretty cautious about similar designs ever since.

Galvanic corosion does not require a salt water bath to take effect.
A big enough difference in electronegativity between neighbouring materials will cause a ion transfer.
The promlems due to the electronegativity difference between CF and Al can be minisied by Anodizing the Al then wrapping it in Fiber-Glass (but not E-Glass, conductive).
Success is how far you you bounce back up after being knocked down

I emailed gass project about the Piper cranks, they're 249$ for the arms in case anyone is interested. Apparently they will be available mid March. Sounds promising.

Apparently the price is for the complete crankset:
From Gass' North America dealer:
I will have some Piper cranksets in stock for the middle of March.
Piper crankset – 50/36
Cost - $249
Shipping approx $9
Comes with crankset / rings / chain ring bolts / crank bolts
Not sure on who makes the rings – similar to Tiso out of Italy

I've heard from another reader that Gass products are simply rebranded Taiwan components, i.e. they are not designed/researched really.
They are apparently not from the same company (Gigantex??) that make FSA products (but also, apparently, CarbonLord (remember
that nasty thread?:
http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1112&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=gigantex&start=0).
So, the question is, is Gass another "second" from some factory, simply rebranded (the warranty is only one year) or is it a serious piece of work?
Is Millen around, he seems to know about who makes what where over there....

Cadence90 is right about Gass products are from Taiwan. All the carbon cranks are manufactured by Gigantex of Taiwan. Gigantex cranks has distinctive pointed end at the BB axle end.

If anyone is still looking for FSA Compact Pro cranksets, try Glory Cycles. I just got a 170mm set from Clive and he said he had a couple of other sets available.
Just because you are not paranoid doesn't mean we aren't out to get you.

I just checked with CC. They do not have and do even list this crankset in 170mm. Only in 172.5 and larger (unless they changed in the last ten minutes).
But the laugh's on me. I had one on back-order with Performance and they couldn't even tell me when it would arrive at their house, let alone mine. So I ordered one from Glory Cycles last night, which shipped this morning. I came home for lunch and the one from Performance was on my door-step.
Anyone need a new, in the box 170mm Compact Pro crankset for $329.95 plus $7 shipping in the lower 48?

You should have used one of the Performance 20% off coupon codes. They are frequently posted on the roadbikereview.com hot deals forum. Some are even good for more than one user so you don't always have to be the first to try it. The only way I buy anything from them is with a coupon (plus a 3% rebate through ebates.com). I may be a weight weenie but I still try to be a penny pincher.
You can comparison shop with qbike.com and bestbikebuys.com too.

LOL.. I wonder what the heck they're saying! Nothing from the campy website about a compact. Maybe the chinese are doing what they're good at (making copies!).
