Trade Parlee Z4 for Colango M10?
Moderator: robbosmans
I have a 2007 Z4 (bought NOS 2011) which i have been riding and loved. But after buying a used 2011 Colnago EPS (Record 11), the ride is so much better i am considering selling the Parlee. The Z4 has Sram Red on it which i loathe, after going back to Campy.
The opportunity has come up to do a trade for the Parlee with groupset, on a 2011 Colnago M10 frameset, monolink post & seat + cash possibly. I already have a mixed Campy 10 spd groupset to go on it.
Any opinions either way? Is it like for like or anyone ridden both? Is the M10 comparable with the EPS?

I don't think the M10 will ride like the EPS. The EP, EPS, c59 and c60 are made in Italy in a completely different way, with lugs and tubes. The M10 I think is made in the Giant factory in Taiwan, not that thats a bad thing but its very different (and lighter). I have an EP with Record and like it very much.
No first hand experience but a friend whose team rides the M10 says its a bit of a brick. So if comfort is a priority maybe not the best choice.

The M10 (which I've ridden a fair bit) is a very nice race bike. Different from the EPS (which I own). The EPS is a super race bike and a wonderful all-rounder (good tire clearance, etc). The M10 is a lighter bike and a rocket to ride. I'd love to have one as my dedicated race bike.

I went from R3 (2007,2008,2009) and I would say that I prefere the M10 7 day's aweek.
The only other point i should add is the sizing. The Parlee is a L or 575 t/t and the M10 is a 54s (565 t/t).
I am 180cm tall and the EPS i have is a 54s also. The 10mm difference is fairly noticable between the two even though they are set up as close as possible.
110, -6 stem on the Z4, 120, -10 on the EPS.

If you're noticing it you haven't set it up as close as possible. Set the two bikes up based on stack and reach, top tube measurements mean nothing.
And if it were up to me I'd keep the Parlee, If they're similar sizes (eg within 10mm stack and reach wise) geometry differences can be sorted out easily.
I write the weightweenies blog, hope you like it
