Actually the Brownlee's never use clip-ons. The bike leg in the ITU format is basically a bunch road race.

Agreed on the Air or Propel being good options. Propel Advanced is phenomenal value this year, and the Adv Pro 2 is only £300 more than the S2 with 50mm wheels included. S2/S3 is a brilliant frame though.

Where do you get that idea? The S5 has the same stack and an even longer head tube and it was the fastest in the Tour mag test.

As long as you can get as low with a negative stem, head tube length alone doesn't seem to negatively affect aero, might even help.

The answer is simple: the madone is associated with Lance.

Bro do you even geometry?

S5 in 54 stack: 555 reach: 378
Supersix Evo in 54 stack: 544 reach 384
Canyon Aeroroad CF SLX in M stack: 551 reach: 397
Madone 54 H1 stack: 531 reach: 396

Aerodynamics is more about position as the most drag inducing thing on the bike is the rider.

The 2015 Cervelo S5 has a shorter head tube. Also it's pretty silly to suggest that nobody can get "low enough" on a Cervelo. Maybe you can't but many of us can.
