I know there is not going to be a lot of choice, but are there any nice light options on 8 speed chains ?
got a SRAM PC850 on an old bike running downtube shifters. I've also read its possible I could run a 9 speed chain.

Run a 9-spd. It will be quieter and shift better.
There's sometimes a buggy.
How many drivers does a buggy have?
One.
So let's just say I'm drivin' this buggy...

Okay, thanks. I can see a KMC 9 speed SL chains for sale, but not an 8 speed version. Hopefully 9 speed will work okay.
I was going to suggest the KMC X9SL or whatever it is. Should work fine.
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.
