Just checking out the new Canyon 2015 bikes and noticed that there's a nice picture of some new Mavic R-Sys slr's. Not quite as 'stealth' as before (don't like the big decals) but look a little more aero than the last set (just the shape, not the depth). Unsurprisingly like the 125 year anniversary set.

Anyone heard if there are any weight savings to be had?

Claimed R-Sys SLR weight is 1295, which is the same as last year, Ksyrium SLR goes from 1410 to 1355 though. All of Mavic's 2015 info is now up on their website.

Their 2015 R-sys and ksyrium say they have a new wider rim shape (about time) but dont state the width. Interestingly they have kept the cosmic 40 with a narrow rim shape...smh at mavic they really have no clue

I'm sure it wasn't on the website yesterday!

With such a small difference in weight between the r sys and ksyrium now, and a big price differential, I can't see many people going for the r sys. Still don't like those decals!

Yay! Have been waiting for 2015 Mavic! Liking the looks of the Ksyrium SLE with the slightly cheaper price than SLR and all aluminium spokes

Wider but the internal rim width is listed as 15, so same as the good old Open Pro...

To me looks like manufacturers are either afraid of releasing a new version of a product with a slight increase in weight due to a truly wider alu rim, or they want to force users to move to carbon. Campagnolo/Fulcrum also upgraded their top of the range alu wheels and they decided to keep the internal 15mm width, but the new carbon ones are 17. A shame, maybe on the next upgrade.
