The buffalo version of this saddle came on my bike, and I have a few hundred miles on it thus far.

First off, it's a carbon shell with a piece of buffalo leather glued to it (more on this) which makes it a very firm saddle, though I find it very comfortable. I like that I can actually feel my sit bones on it and it also is very aesthetically pleasing. I have no trouble finding a good spot on it, and I don't tend to move around very much.

However, in regards to the leather cover, this is going to be a major issue in the future for them... I guarantee it. When I took delivery of the bike, the cover was slightly pulling off on one side, so we (I and the bike shop) decided to see what happened. Within 3 rides the leather was pulling off all around the nose of the saddle, and it is not held in place by any pressure or grip, just strictly the glue they use. I am going to try re-gluing it prior to asking for a new saddle, but I wish I didn't have to deal with it at all.

Now, when I say that I find it comfortable, bear in mind that I have tens of thousands of miles in the saddle and am plenty used to riding enough hours to drive most people crazy. I am also a total snob about clothing and have an arsenal of Assos, Rapha, and Cuore bibshorts, so someone with less miles on the butt and lower end clothing may not also feel that it is comfortable.

Curious - has anyone else had the opportunity to put some miles in on the Alm? Thoughts? It's beautiful!

Also wondering about comfort on this from more people. I'm used to riding a saddle with a cutout (Romin); curious if going back to a non- cutout would be less comfortable; or does the "flex" of the fabric saddle really make up for any of it?

@VTBike - i'm also coming from a Romin (pro), and prefer the 'cutout' style saddles typically. I was in the market for a new saddle and finally decided on an SWorks toupe (in the sale) - it weighs the same as the ALM, doesn't quite look as nice, but cost literally half the price. The advertising Fabric ALM's are getting since the London Bike Show made me think twice, but at £250 its a bit of a risk, and not one I thought was worth taking...

@greentimgreen, thanks for the note. That's pretty much exactly where i'm at - I want to see if I can demo a toupe from my local shop. Toupe Pro's are going on ebay pretty reasonably - one went brand new for $160 last week. Of course, the Toupe Sworks looks pretty sweet, but comes in at $300. It also has a much stiffer shell than the Toupe Pro (they say zero flex), and I'm not sure how that would go..

Are you happy with the switch from the Romin?

I've been eyeing these for months, where do you order from, or can a guy in the US?

/\ out of stock for both the LTD and the Ultimate.

Good looking saddles, not only the alm but the other ones that they sell and prices are very decent too.

I did my first ride with the ALM Ultimate today (on an hardtail MTB). Felt really great and comfortable. Would recommend.

@VTBike missed your earlier question, apologies. In a word, no. I'm going back to the Romin. Didn't like the look and bizarrely weighed 3grams more than my Romin Pro. It's a no-brainer, Romin Pro all the way for me!

I finally gave up after getting my third warranty saddle. These things are not for me.

So I have a brand new alm ultimate I'm not going to ever use.

Mine cracked in the nose.

Such a beautiful saddle but quality seems to be lacking unfortunately.
