After a recent crash on my Madone, I stripped off the SRAM Red from my Parlee to replace damaged shifters and derailleur. I decided to use the insurance money to convert my Parlee to DA 9000
I now need brakes as I had Bontrager brakes on the Trek and the Aerolink SRAM brakes don't fit the Trek Frame (direct mount) and SRAM brakes won't look good with DA drivetrain.
I am keeping the SRAM Exogram crankset, sanding it down and fitting Praxis Cloverleaf rings, as converting to DA cranks will add more weight.
So now the dilemma is do I wait for the new EE brakes or just go ahead with DA brakes.
SRAM aerolink 254g, DA 294g, EE 169g.
One question I have, are Shimano brakes weighed with pads and holders as I believe the EE are weighed without.
The DA brakes will cost me about $300 as opposed to about $615 plus shipping.

One of those options is almost twice as heavy as the other. So this being WW, I think the choice is obvious :)

@fa63 - the only dilemma is the EE brakes are not available yet - maybe next week.
The second is cost, I can get DA brakes for $300 but the EE will cost me about $700.

I know this is WW, and I am already adding weight as the DA levers and rear derailleur are a bit heavier than the Red.

I suppose I will have to suck it up, wait for them to be available and cough up the $$$$$$

I went with DA on my Parlee... I have to save money somewhere. Eventually I may get the new EE down the road next year sometime. I did get the new EE direct mount for the rear of my wifes Madone.. have not got around to install, but it's really light.. 75g w/no pads

I have EE on one of my bikes and even though they are expensive i would never hesitate to do the same again.

I have had only good feedback on the EE brakes, and as the new ones are supposedly even better and simpler to adjust I'm waiting in anticipation to get them fitted and try them out. Now just to wait till I get them

I have both brakes on my two go-to bikes. They both work excellent and are easy to setup. I love them both. The only difference is a $400 price differential and about 80 grams. You make the decision.
