Campag is introducing 11-29 for 2015. It is starting to come through now, so be patient!

I have the first year Super Record 11sp. Seems I was reading somewhere some adjustment was required for this generation r.der. to accomodate a 29t cog. Anyone here know if so, and if so, what changes are required?

Thanks for the tip ;)

Wonder if they will also offer an 11-28? I suppose with the 11-29 I could ditch my 50/34 and move to a 52/36 combo!

There are times I've raced with my 12-27 and genuinely needed an 11.

Outside of racing, no. But then the OP did not state what the use was for.

Why not just get a sram? 1190 11-28 they are interchangeable...

Don't get the crappy Duraace -_-

Aside from it being Sram, they are not necessarily interchangeable. If, like me, the OP switches cassettes the freehub will be incompatible. Also the distance from dropout to sprocket may be off too.

Campagnolo has sent a document to all distributors stating that the new 11-29 cassette is not compatible with older derailleurs and EPS. Only with the new 2015 mechanical derailleurs at the moment. It will be compatible with the next gen EPS derailleur wich will have the same geometry as the 2015 mechanical derailleurs.

I'm sure some people will buy it and test it and will somehow work, but officially Campagnolo says its not recommended.

I have a 11-29 hacked cassette (11-25 & 12-29 combined) which works fine. Methinks Campag just want us to upgrade.

On the Campa official site under section Support there are tutorial vids.
Among them is a vid especially to show how this update is done.

A cusomter came in with a 11-34T IRD 10 speed Campagnolo cassette. compact chainset and a short cage veloce rear mech (post 2012) and you know what it worked. So I think the 11-29T will work just fine with current mechs.

I'm not saying it won't work. But, the new derailleur makes the chain wrap around the cassette more than older gen derailleur. Maybe this cassette is optimised for that and using it with older derailleur causes problems. Untill someone tries we won't know till then. Campy has said alot of stuff in the past that didn't work I guess for warranty purposes. I'm using 11 speed chainrings on my 10speed setup and works even better than 10 speed chainrings. I'm using 10 speed chain too. Campy doesn't recommend it.
