Top: Evo. Bottom: CAAD10. Almost identical builds and fits. The philosophy was to build two bikes that were identical as possible so that they can be used for training and racing interchangeably. Covering all conditions and characteristics of riding and racing. So durability and reliability as well as weight were considered. Trying to avoid the use of pure "weight weenie" components in the process.

Now that the two bikes are identical... which do you prefer to ride. There can't be that big of difference between the frames. Awesome builds and you have the same illness as the rest of us poor souls. :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug:

Thanks everyone. I find that tires, tire pressure, and wheels have more of an effect on the ride. I mostly use my Tubeless wheels and switch them between bikes. Using the same wheels, the ride is almost the same. The Evo is more smoother and compliant, but not by much. Stiffness is a toss up. For some reason I do enjoy descending and cornering a tad more on the CAAD10. Maybe it's a placebo because I'm less afraid to push the limits on the aluminum build. Again, these differences are small. Smaller than the $2,500 price difference in frames for sure.

just found your page and was curious as to feedback regarding the Rotor BB PF30's... I just picked up my EVO hi mod frame set and wanting to upgrade the BB right away before the rest of the build starts. Any other input for a BB and crank setup would be most appreciated. thanks in advance!

I've used many other steel and ceramic bearings, but the ceramic angular XD-15 bearings are the closest performing, smoothness and durability, bearings to my previous Campy C.U.L.T. bearings that came on my Super Record cranks (3 years of no service needed, no creaking, no issues). The Rotor Ceramic XD-15 is actually Enduro (not rebadged or relabeled) and has a one year warranty as well. I don't know of any other bearings to have a warranty. If you're using Cannondale's Hollowgram cranks I recommend using the cups that Cannondale provides and buying the Rotor/Enduro XD-15 BB30 kit. If any other crankset is used, the PF30 system is the way to go. If the cost is outside your budget, I'd recommend steel angular contact bearings over the common radial contact bearing even if they're ceramic.

Both are raced and trained on equally depending on the parcours. I've raced the Evo on crits/circuits as well. Firm believer that nice race bikes should be raced if there is an opportunity.

Nice, very nice. SR on both?! Makes most of us look like cousin Eddie.

Surprisingly, that 48cm EVO looks proportionally solid - unlike many builder's smaller frames. Kudos to Cannondale (and you!).
