Did I see it right? THM replaced the alloy spline clamp in the left crank to carbon?

Seriously, looks great, but with so much weight behind the new 4 bolt 'standard' (Shimano, Campagnolo and FSA), won't 5 bolt look quickly outdated, and (if the performance and weight hype is to be believed) seriously outclassed in performance terms?

I personally do prefer 5 bolt, of several reasons.
One of them is stiffer crankarm/chainring connection.
Better load distribution.
4 bolt does look modern today, but are it better?

its really the preload adjuster. non-drive arm has 2 bolts to clamp down.
