So I just updated my Evo Hi-Mod today with Dura Ace 11 speed mechanical gears. As I have two pairs of Shimano compatible Gen 1 Lightweights that can't be upgraded too 11 speed free hubs due to the fact they use Dura Ace 7700 titanium cassette bodies and hub internals a workaround was needed and after reading of a similar workaround elsewhere on the forum I followed the same route. I picked up an 11-28 Ultegra 11 speed cassette and had a buddy of mine machine 1.8mm of material off the back of the alloy carrier of the fixed last three sprockets which I believe you can't do to the Dura Ace cassette as its carbon and listening to the fuss over the Dura Ace cassette exploding is probably a far better option anyway! There's plenty of clearance between the back of the cluster and the hub body and also plenty of clearance at the spokes although I think you'd struggle with higher ratio cassettes. As an aside I believe this could work on many wheels, I tried it on a set of carbon Bontrager wheels I have and the cassette fitted on there too. I took loads of pics for those that are interested, click the photo bucket link below the following two pics :-)

...this is the start of a bicycle version of Spider Man right?

(there's a spider on your finger).

:unbelievable:

I think this is the first cassette mod I've seen for 11 speed. All the mods I saw, including the one I am using was made on the freehub body...

How much does the hi-mod frame weigh?

added: I see the "Hi-Mod" is just what used to be the standard Evo.

Bars look heavy but nice. Anyone know of any good windtunnel data for rider + bike with aero bars?

Yeah bars a bit heavier than the Zipp SL's that came off, but the bike is light enough not to be unduly affected by the extra pork :D

Nice job mate. Only thing I would change on that would be the seatpost. I have the self same frame in a 56 and came out at 800g.

Yes Kevin its on my to do list lol. I had it lying around as all my recent bikes have used 31.6, I've got a Zipp SL and latest generation EC90 in 31.6, gutted they don't fit the Evo  I'd like something like a Zipp SL, Enve or Ritchey Superlogic, scanning Ebay as we speak :D I'd also like to stick a Spidering on there.

That is totally awesome. Any way your buddy would be willing to machine out a couple more cassettes? I tried a couple of local machine shops and none was able to do the job.
