I'm sure they are great, but they are just not worth the price for me. Prefer to get some planet-x CNCs.

Direct mount option is cool. If I was going custom I'd consider designing for that. It should be superior braking + lighter, with small added weight for the bosses or whatever used to mount the brakes.

It's good to see not everyone has given up on rim brakes.

Kind of difficult to give up on the rim brakes. We (I) have too many bikes and way too many wheels.

I need to see these new ee brakes in person, though. I couldn't get used to the looks of the current version.

But is anyone going to make an aftermarket fork that will work with these brakes to accomodate Custom Builders?

I'm pretty sure that if ENVE does it will be at least twelve months.

Are Direct Mount brakes really that much more powerful? Any data?

I think direct mount are usually just lighter.

How can they be lighter? The forks really shouldn't be any different - I guess maybe you could save the rear brake bridge but then your also more bolts to attach them Front and Rear?

Can't wait to try the new centering adjuster. I did not like the older design much.

On the subject of lighter: from Fairwheel Bikes:

The new DM eeBrake uses a two-bolt mounting design with an outboard stiffening arch to prevent frame/fork flex during brake actuation. Even with all that, they actually come in 20 grams lighter than the already feathery standard eeBrake, tipping the scales at just 175g for the set…with brake pads and all hardware. That’s just 80-90g per wheel!

I think direct mount brakes are essentially two independent pieces. They'll be stiffer because there's one less mechanical linkage, assuming the fork hardware is robust.

I bought one DM ee for my wifes madone yesterday... supposed to ship today.... can't use the DA9010 because of the stages PM. The ee should be better then the tektro t750r that is on there now.
