Well within the range of manufacture. The 2014 RCA is heavier than the last one. It's beefed up

Ha! All this talk makes me happy I've got the "old" one. My 56 frame was 657 all in.

And the metal coated fork allows use of a standard plug instead of the glue in one. Does the new fork take a standard or do you need the glue in insert?

I was in the store and saw the R5 and R5CA in person. I must say for me the new R5 is the best looking Cervelo R series for some time. Maybe it is just me but I am so bored of an all black bikes. What happened to some color.
When looking closely, the black part of the bike has a beautiful speckle paint, similar to the 2012 R5 frame.
2013 and 2014 frame were boring in the mat black.

2015 R5CA, also too plain for me, when spending that much on a bike, would want soemthing that stands out a bit more.

I currently have a 2013 R5 and if I had the money would get the 2015 R5.

I gotta agree, I dig the 2015 color. Can't wait to see one in person!

I really hope that all this unfavorable talk about the 2015 R5 paint scheme doesn't put Cervelo off being adventurous in the future. I agree that the newest design is the best ever. I love my new R5 and I look forward to more inavative choices in the future for new models.

Stopped by the LBS today. They had both an RCA and R5. The R5... actually doesn't look THAT bad in person. The bottom part is a very dark, glossy, metallic gray with black cervelo logo. My opinion changed from "ugly" to "sort of ugly". ;)

The RCA is sweet. Where the R5's top tube is red, the RCA's tube is glossy black. Bottom parts look to be clear gloss. Stunning.

Wow, black on black, never seen that. Its too damn easy to do right and fairly boring. This is from a guy who has had a lot of black on black bikes.

The new R5 is awesome in person. I like it online too.
Don't take me too seriously. The only person that doesn't hate Froome.

My 51cm 2014 Rca frame came in about 10 grams heavier than a 2013 frame and the cut fork came in 20 lighter. I suspect that the fork being 20 grams lighter is pretty typical, the frames have a little more variation but 10 grams heavier could well be typical.

So overall the 2014 frameset is 10 grams lighter, has a better fork and might be a little more durable in a crash.

I prefer the 2013 Rca paintjob.

The more I ride my 2015 R5 the more I like it. Rock solid handling but with a racy, elegant feel also. I think my Bora 35 tubular wheels with lovely Veloflex carbon tyres help the overall exquisite ride though. I have never felt fully satisfied with a bike including with my Storck Fasenario 06 but I do with my 2015 R5. No complaints whatsoever. It's significantly superior to the 2013 model in my view.

Isn't the 2015 R5 frame/fork the same in every aspect except the paint as the 2014 R5?

Yes. The reason I swapped a 2013 R5 for a 2015 model is the earlier frame got totaled in an accident.

Any confirmation on the R2 weights?

As we have this

1143 is for the frame with every last little piece on it. I am assuming at least 100g for the BB since it is greased up.
I would guesstimate 970-980 for a painted frame with nothing on it.

with a lot of bickering over how much the BB set up weighs...and no mention of the fork.

Never been a fan of the '15 R5 (nothing could be better than my '14 right...) but went past one today with red cable lines and red bar tape. Have to say it looked awesome...
