I'm putting together a Trek Domane 6. The frame came with a bag of various parts and odds and ends (barrel adjusters, bearings, etc.). I know what most of the parts are and where they go on the frame, but I can't figure out where this one part goes. It's a small plastic cable guide/sleeve. I'm guessing it goes at the rear dropout where the rear derailleur cable comes out and connects to the rear derailleur. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm guessing it goes into this hole at the rear dropout, just below the fender mount?

that's the cable stop. You need it to get your mechanical brakes working.

That is not for your brakes as FIJIGabe said.

You are correct, it is the cable stop for you rear derailleur housing and goes below the fender mount.

It can be replaced with a rubber grommet if building a bike with Di2.

Sorry, I don't know why I put "brakes". Too early in the morning, I guess. You are correct, that is for the derailleur.
