A spoke on my rear wheel (driveside) snapped. Ive been using this for a year and a half but have used it in races a lot of times.

I was able to talk to our country distributor and i was told that I couldnt replace only one spoke but it should be the whole side.

Any of you tried replacing only a spoke and never encountered any problems after?

If they say that the zircal spokes are as tough as they should be, then why change the whole side if only one spoke broke?

Insights appreciated.

yeah i've replaced single spokes in them for other people, but all the others are under massive tension just to keep it true. When they pop, it overloads the remaining ones, so they are at risk from failure too.

What Mavic do i think is a rebuild for you and guarantee it

Did you have to pay for these spokes? Supposedly you also need an "authorised" Mavic dealer to install them for you or warranty is also voided.

We've done countless single spoke replacements with no issues my my shop. I have a feeling the distributor just didn't want to split a set of spokes.

I was able to ask some who experienced spoke breakage. They only replaced one and didnt have problems after :(

They didnt mention anything about them truing the wheels for warranty issues.

Im based in the Philippines by the way.
