I got a deal on a Red 22 crankset (compact), cheaper than 10-speed, and someone else wrote in my Scott thread below that they were using a Red 22 crankset in a 10-speed system without any issues.

I see printed on the inner chainring "SRAM 11-speed chain / 11-speed Yaw FD only"

For sure a regular 10-speed chain will work fine, and I am almost sure my 10 speed Yaw FD will also work, but wanted to check here just in case. Anyone?

I would doubt they changed chainline/chainring spacing to accomodate 11 speed.

I'm using a Red 22 crank with 10 speed right now and it works perfectly.
I'm using a Red 10 speed Yaw FD, 10 speed chains, and Force 10 speed wyfli RD

The Red 22 crank replaced a Force 10 speed, and it actually shifts better and is quieter.

Thanks for the advice!

I installed the Red22 50/34 crankset and adjusted the 10-speed Yaw FD without any issues. Well, except the Scott Addict R1 FD mounting tab would not let me adjust the FD quite low enough. The gap is 3mm or so to the 50T, but it seems to work fine. There's a little chain rub on big/big, but I never use that crooked chain combination anyway, and the audible warning is nice to have should ever get in that gear inadvertently.

Just a short test ride, but I think it shifts even easier than my previous 10-speed 53/39. We shall see after a few more rides.

You might be able to get the FD a little lower by dremeling the slot in the mounting tab; if you feel it is necessary for smooth shifting.
When i switched to the Exogram chainrings I was astounded at how much crisper the front shfting was.

That's a good idea, but it works well as it is -- next time I have it off for some reason or other.
