Got myself a forkless CAAD4 frame
Question is, which fork to use with it. There's the odd CAAD9 fork floating around, and lots of Synapse ones. Both have the "big crown" for lack of a better word, with about 5cm of diameter, where the internal headset bearing race is seated. The CAAD4 used an external headset though, those forks usually have a smaller crown.
Will a newer (internal headset) CAAD/Synapse fork work for the CAAD4, or what other budget oriented fork would you recommend? Thanks.

Any 1 1/8 fork with the right offset (43mm I believe), should be OK.
The CAAD 4 frame takes an external threadless headset - Cane Creek S2 was the original.

Ok, thanks.
Will it look very weird, using a fork with a crown for internal headset, though?

it might be an optical illusion , but the slice forks on later models appear to have a beefier crown so it merges into the larger headtube better.

The original fork had a non-integrated sloping crown. Possibly hard to find now. An integrated fork won't look too bad IMO and you probably don't have a choice.
