So I contacted Specialized and didn't really get an answer. Does anyone know what the max width tire you can run is? I have 23s and will move to 25s when they run out but considering a 27 possibly over the winter. Just unsure if a 27 will fit.

Thanks

I ran 27mm Challenge Parigi-Roubaix tires on some decently wide Roval wheels, and they measured out at 30mm wide. Not as tall, but they got wide. And zero clearance issues. I probably could have gone even wider. That bike was a magic carpet with that setup...

28-30mm will fit. I've personally run a 28mm rear tire on mine.

I've run 28mm on mine over the winter with no issues.

From CaleyFretz on Twitter:
30 is the new 28 for Roubaix tubulars. All FMB teams (so, most teams) on the 30 Paris-Roubaix this year.

So it seems virtually all the bikes used in P-R have clearance for 30's with appropriate brakes.

Last year they had issues with tyre clearance on *some* frames. Some production runs of Roubaix SL4s fit the 30mm tyres just too tight so OPQS fit 28 mm on them. Some cleared them well enough for use. Boonen and the other key members took the frames that fit 30mm.

So I think it's a hit or miss. They were using Zipp tubulars if that's a factor. Your wheels may make the tyre sit taller or wider, thus affecting clearance.

Good point on tubulars: on 23 mm rims clinchers run a bit wider so 30 clinchers may end up like 32 tubulars.

Was a very dry edition of P-R also meaning far less mud problem potential for tight clearances

At this rate we'll all be on 80mm tyres in a few years!

Well I have run 27mm Dugast Paris Roubaix on Enve 1.25 tubular rims on a S-Works Roubaix with plenty of room to spare if that helps??
