That might means the rule change of UCI 6.8kg limit gonna be definate
Big brand like trek won't put so much effort to make such a light bike without any concern in profilio.
And I think this bike will finally equipped in peleton.
Just to show what they're capable of? That doesn't sounds like Trek's way of business.

Actually I really hope trek can bring boron fiber back on a production bike.
Again Trek use "SL" in a designation.
Reminds me how beautiful and technically advanced the Madone SSLx was..

Well imho this Emonda SLR10 is expensive enough to put some dark science inside.
Was wondering how could trek and cervelo and others take this weight war a step further.
I think we can foresee this arms race coming after,if become true, the 6.8kg rule revised.
Most top of the range frames lunched this year are sub 900 grams.

i remember the early days of weighweenies where one of the german member had this absolute uber lightweight bike, ( http://weightweenies.starbike.com/articles.php?ID=21 )it has a derailleur made out out of two or three donor derailleurs, everything was custom, nothing stock, it certainly didn't had a 2x 11 gear set up, and i think...it might have been a tat lighter than this of the the shelf offering, a lot has changed in the last 10/15 years

That's quite impressive. The integrated rear brake looks really nice!
[Hijack] Love the anagrams! But they could have done beter than Emonda. I read "Daemon" on roadbikereview
Further speculation:
2016 will bring us a belt driven OCLV Isospeed commuter with integrated carbon fenders and lights, called "Mondae"
And in 2017 Trek will introduce a OCLV Isospeed world traveling bike with integrated carbon fenders ánd panniers called "Nomade" , or "l'Amonde"

I'll want to inquire with my dealer on getting that lighter seatmast... at over 200 grams there's much potential for weight savings there...
