Does anyone have an opinion on when 2015 Di2 (6970?) is going to drop?

You're more likely to see a "mild" update on the DA Di2 9070 in the next 12 months comparatively as it was released a year earlier.
Officially, the 6870 was released in late 2013, as a 2014 product. So you're not likely to see a complete revision for the ballpark of 3+ years after that at least.
In short : NOT going to happen in 2015.

Good good... Just about to start a build and was wondering if 2015 bikes would be shipping with anything new.

If you wait for the next release all the time before building your bike you will never built it!
Ain't that the truth! But it would be gutting to invest in Di2 a month or so before the new model year and have it immediately outdated...
However it looks like the e wire architecture now common to both DA and Ultegra will be the future for a few years and I'm not convinced of the benefits of WiFi given the penalties for extra battery capacity.
Time to get ordering.

Yeah. With a few exceptions 6870 bikes weren't shipping until january this year, so really it's still brand new.
Also XTR DI2 doesn't seem to have improved anything road applicable with the possible exception of syncro shift (which could probably be made available with only a software update or at worst a new junction box anyway, if you even wanted it) so that doesn't hint at any new DA/Ult tech in the pipeline either.
