My new DA 9000 chain is close to 0.50. Changing it at 0.50 is a bit silly. Also I cannot find it anywhere about changing the chain at 0.50. On Park's website it says change it at 0.75 (no specific chain was mentioned).

I saw it here, http://www.parktool.com/product/chain-checker-cc-2 on the box, and in a Shimano manual or package somewhere. I changed mine when it started showing slightly greater than .50 wear, and either way, I'm getting quite a bit more life out of it than I was out of 6700 chains, so I'm not complaining. I do tend to err on the side of replacing the chain slightly early to extend the life of the cassette.

Thanks. I don't know how I missed it. I read the user instructions and it didn't mention anything about 11 speed.

I just measured my new DA 9000 chain and it measured between 0.25 and 0.50. I waited 3,000 miles on the first chain and I probably waited a bit too long (it was between 0.75 and 1.00). My first chain was starting to make some noise when I replaced it. The new chain is whisper quiet.

I still think 0.50 is a bit overkill. I will wait and see how many miles I get before it reads 0.50. My guess probably 1,000 miles.
