Hi,

I've just bought a couple of these tubular tyres and need to get them stretched, glued and mounted ASAP.

I've tried googling this and some posts seem to suggest that Vittoria have changed the valve system recently but I don't quite understand the answers and none are specifically about my tyre.

They used to come with a red valve which you would unscrew, put in an extender at the base then the red valve on top of that.

These tyres have come with a brass valve which doesn't appear to be removable. Do SRs not have the removable stems, or have Vittoria changed the system? How can I make it longer for my deep section rims?

Thanks
Phil

You would have to use a valve extender that is compatible with that type of valve.....I think SRAM makes some.

Do you know if they've changed the design or if it's specific to the SR?

I've figured it out thanks. First time I've encountered this type of valve

It's the same as on Continental now I think, I'm using this type of valve extensions http://www.tufo.com/valve-extensions/ . Otherwise great tubular. I've bought one for the rear, but immediately bought for the front too. Very stable and supple.

Thanks, I'm looking to forward to getting out on them.

I realised I could use my existing vitorria extenders by removing the core so all good.
