Can the Edge 500 display what firmware my Powertap is using?

I have an Edge 500 with a Powertap G3 hub on my road bike. I tried updating the firmware on the Powertap, is there a way to check on the Edge 500 which firmware version the Powertap is running. I notice under the About section for the power meter is lists the software version as 5.800. The latest Powertap firmware is 16.058. Shouldn't the Edge 500 list it as 16.058?
