I made a big spreadsheet when I originally built my bike and calculated all my planned upgrades the cost and the difference in weight, I've Done most of the upgrades but I haven't gone to the extreme I originally thought i would. The key thing is wheels, tires, tubes/tubulars. That's where you can gain the most performance and usually lose weight, gain aero, and stiffness. Makes those dollars stretch much further performance wise than a few titanium bolts, an aluminum cassette or other options.
