New SRAM 30mm Spindle Cranks

I'm curious if the new Red22/Force22 cranks have a long enough spindle to fit into a standard frame. It seems to share the same design as the S950/S951 as opposed to the older one piece design of Red and Force... just curious if the spindle is the same length as well. They say it fits BB30, PF30, and BB86... which leads me to think the spindle is long enough to accommodate any frame design out there right now.

I have an S952 crankset, which i think shares the same design, and it definitely has enough spindle to fit a standard frame.
The Red22 BB30 cranks I just looked up on the internets don't look like the S95x cranks. They look like the older Red BB30 cranks. The DS crank arm includes the spider rather than the spider being separate like on the S95x. And one chainring bolt is in the crank arm like the older Red cranks.
I'd measure before buying one to fit a BSA frame.

Sram S952 cranks share the same dimensions as the sram red/force22 cranks.

Correct me if I am wrong as I have not messed around with the new Red22 Crank.
The BB30 Crank will fit BB30 and PF30 frames.
The GXP crank will fit BB86 frames. GXP can technically be used with any frame and BB standard, you just need to get appropriate adapters.

Those specs don't include the spindle length, which is the issue here.

Any of the BBRight/BB386 cranks should offer what you are looking for: http://www.bbright.net/images/whybbright/slide15.png
They're not listed on the chart, but the Quarq cranksets - Riken and Elsa - have the 30mm wide/GXP length spindles.

It seems that in almost all cases, SRAM cranks with removable spiders have enough spindle length to work on a threaded frame. Basically all of these cranks will use a large spacer (on the drive side - from memory) which isn't present on Red cranks or any of the earlier models with a 1 piece arm/spider (because the spindle is much shorter). Removing the extra spacer and changing the preload setup can give you enough room for the external bearing cups or the extra width of other press fit BB standards.
From memory there is a thread with decent pictures on the Cervelo forums. It's about using a Quarq BB30 crank on BBRight but it's basically the same process. Keep in mind the Red Quarq is not really a Red crank, but just another set of S9x series arms with a removable spider.

I am planning to put a SRAM Force CX1 BB30 crank in a BSA frame. Can somebody confirm that this crank is basically the same as the other S9xx series? Has somebody installed this successfully? According to the above it should work!?

Answer to your question is yes...but you need to revise your description above because, your reference of Sram Red22 crank as being 'normal' length means nothing.
Sram Red22 without Quarz has what would be called conventional BB30/PF30 aka short spindle length. Sram Red 22 with short spindle will not fit a BB86 because it is designed for 68mm wide shell with BB30 bearings inside the shell and BB86 is the equivalent of a std 68mm BB with bearings 'external' to the shell in terms of width spacing.
I believe grover above was the most succinct:
Force 22 BB30 has a spindle length long enough for BSA threaded/BB86. Red 22 BB30 does not.
The reason why Sram does this which may be considered confusing to some is a matter of weight. Force is their second tier crank they make with a longer spindle to fit a vast variety of BB's from BSA to wider shell BB86 and BB90 aka Trek. It can also be used on more ubiquitous BB30 and PF30 with a 11mm spacer on the drive side to take up the longer spindle length that makes the Force 22 a universal fit.
By contrast the Red22 BB39/PF30 cranks is a lighter shorter spindle crank that is more of a compromise toward performance and weight. Their 30mm variant of the Red only fits std width BB shells for BB30 and PF30.
Hope that helps. Sram does a bit different than both Shimano and Campy whose highest end crank models are both long spindle 24mm and 25mm spindle diameter respectively...but Campy does offer a long spindle 30mm crank that is not unlike Force 22 and its called the OverTorque also similar to Rotor 3D+ which is also a 'jack of all trades' long spindle 30mm crank that can fit both narrow BSA and BB/PF30 with spacers and wider shell BB's growing in popularity.
