The front mech. I had to replace the bolts that hold the self made carbon plate for countersunk ones as they hit the crank arm.
They are now gold. I also have now cut out all the back cage. Its up and running on my bike and working fine.
I have tuned another front red mech and it is lighter. I will post as soon as I get a chance.

The rear mech. I just cut out as much as I thought I could get away with. Its under 90grms nearer 80 but my kitchen scales are useless.
I have a AFC and one carbon Jockey wheel they weigh 5grms the pair.

Sorry for the lousy shots but will try and sort out some better ones.

cheers Xena

I did say they are lousy. I just thought something was better than nothing. They are just edited from a flip.

I will post some better ones using a camera if I get a chance and obviously take a course in photography

It's kind of like looking at paintings of the parts. How did the derailer become red colored? Have you tested them out on a bike?

Seems a shame to have spent so long doing the tuning but then not to show off your work more clearly

I apologise again for the photos.

I just did not have the time to get some cool ones up and thought that some of you WW would be interested to see a couple of my tunings.
Even with the bad photos.
I will post some better ones as soon as I get a chance.

The rear mech was a brand new Sram Red Black that I went at with the dremel. When it was finished I gave it a thin coat of red paint.
It has plastic and very light alloy bolts a carbon cage from fibre lyte at the rear. AFC and a carbon jockey wheel ,5grms pair.
I have not put it on a bike yet. Will do soon.

The front mech a Sram red black is on my bike and has been working well since I put it on over a month ago.
I did take out a lot more weight by cutting out more of the titanium cage at the rear. Most of it in-fact.
I have also tuned another red mech which is even lighter.

I had the understanding that the Red front shifter was not very good due to the titanium cage. With all those additional holes, wouldn't shift worst?

The ti cage is very strong. Since the photo I have cut out a lot more of the cage, just one big hole.
The titanium is very difficult to cut and drill.
I had to get some carbonite dremel bits and a carbonite m4 tap to make the threads to screw on the carbon plate. Normal dremel bits were not strong enough to do the job.
I use a downtube shifter on my front mech. Modolo,5grms. It works fine. I do have a BTP shifter as well but it was slipping a bit.
To be honest I always ride in my 53t and climb as well so I can't judge for someone who shifts front rings a lot.
The strength of the cage seems fine and is working the same as before I put the carbon plate on and dremeled out the rear.
I also have put on a plastic screw at the small end of the cage and that is holding fine as well.
