Wow, I wouldn't do that for weight savings... maybe look at spending the money on wheels if it's burning a hole?

It performs exactly the same. You only get an extra cog. I guess people may have been disappointed after Shimano made big improvements between 7900/6700 and 9000/6800.

If red 2x10 performs 10/10, why spend a lot of money for one extra cog and almost no weight loss?

It all depends on the wallet, but there's so much ways to spend money on bikes, than 1500€ for one extra cog and -49 grams..
