Norcal is correct about the rotational weight however accelerating is more difficult with rotational weight.

Making the more from a heavy to a light bike we notice the difference in performance and look to replicate the performance improvement by reducing the weight of our bikes further. Sometimes the most obvious weight is left bobing on the saddle.
