How do you justify anything in this topic?

To quote the man himself: "life is *expletive* short"

So, good luck to him! YOLO and all that. Everyone should do something crazy once in a while, providing it's not harming or offending anyone else.

Sorry, but YOLO isnt enough of a justification to do something profoundly stupid.

To whit "I think Ill fire a nailgun at my head"..
"Why"
"Yolo". Bang.

Having said that, using lightweights for commuting is pretty dumb. OTOH, using DISC lightweights with a "spare" brake, plus angled saddle, bamboo carbon frames, riser stems, half wrapped tape, mirrors, etc etc creates so many stylistic errors that it transcends lunacy and starts to be cool again.

Have you considered switching over to DA Di2 for this bike? It seems in order ;)

I'm quite sure this disc wheel with double brakes things is just some photoshoping.

Quite sure as well. Don't see the brake caliper mounts.

I've been commuting on carbon tubular wheels for the past couple of years on and off ... mostly on ... say 4 times a week average with a 22km commute round trip across London

Couple of punctures but that's it. No issues with potholes etc - I'm 76kg. These are Campagnolo, Zipp, Mavic and FFWD carbon tubular wheels.

No problems. None.

Of course, a nail lying on a road by a construction site type risk cannot be mitigated ... so you take that chance.

Saves having to change wheels for the weekend/evening rides

It's not even photo shopping, just a disc looped over the axle and a caliper balanced on top of it.

Nah Ive got the latest gen and it seems they have fixed the melting rim issue.

Ive had em almost 2 years now and heavily abused them. The brake track is heavily worn from a visual point but they still work great and feel solid.

They are more comfortable then I though.

I even put them on my $200 garage sale cannondale and they looked great.

Ive done about 3 youtube reviews on them now.

They don't make you any faster though. Well maybe 3-5 seconds up a 15min climb but lets face if, you get dropped its not because you were NOT running lightweights etc haha.

as for the disc caliper, yeah, that was just troll'n. ;)

everything else is legit though.

I pace a lot of mates to PR's on the local climbs and the mirror is excellent so I can hold watts and just keep an eye on their face and see how they are going. As soon as the face tightens up I yell 'relax! relax and strong! deep relaxed breathing!'.

works every time.

Ive helped over 100 riders PR climbs here in Radelaide and Chiang Mai.

Mirrors and power meters. Can't beat em.
